Calculating the Standard Deviation of Hot Wheels
This hands on activity allows you to engage with the student's in a non traditional way to allow them to focus on a very complex topic. In this hands on activity we calculate the speed of hot wheels by building a ramp and recording data. This allows the students to have some fun before we have to sit down and concentrate on the math. when it comes to doing the math if you follow along the worksheet you should calculate the Standevation by then end. You will notice that once you complete this hands on activity that our standard deviations are below zero and this makes sense because all hot wheels so be going around the same speed.
